DIVISIONS:
Any child living and/or attending school in the City of Rye is eligible to participate, as long as they are age appropriate.
Rye Little League offers 4 divisions of play.
Majors Players are 11 and 12 years old (generally in 5th and 6th grade), plus any 10 year-olds who are drafted following a tryout). Pitching is by players and all players must use a WOOD bat.
Intermediates Players are 9 and 10 years old (generally in 3rd and 4th grade). Pitching is by players.
Minors Players are 7 and 8 years old (generally in 1st and 2nd grade). Two session per week - one weeknight (likely Tuesday or Thursday) session beginning at 6 pm, and a Saturday session (various times). Friday 6pm reserved as a rain date for weekday rainouts. Approximately 1st half of Spring Season fundamentals-based practices, latter portion includes games. During games in the Spring, pitching is done by a coach. Summer season is kid pitch.
Tee Ball Players are 6 years old and/or in Kindergarten. We are teaching beginning fundamentals of baseball and will introduce "games" in the final few weeks. Teams will meet once a week on Sundays, plus every other Wednesday evening.
Games
Majors, Intermediates, and Minors divisions expects to play 2 games per week. One during a weeknight starting at approximately 6 pm. A second game is scheduled for Saturday during various times. Sunday does not have scheduled games, however the Majors and Intermediates divisions might schedule a make up for Sunday in the event of a rain out.
Rye Babe Ruth League
